A: ITYD is a separate requirement and must be completed no more than 90 days prior to the applicant taking the skills examination. ITYD should be completed after the 6 hour Adult Driver Education Course.
Q: Who is required to take ITYD?
A: Any applicant who has taken a 6 hour Adult Driver Education Course and was issued an ADE-1317 Certificate, is required to view the ITYD program and receive a completion certificate before the drive test will be administered. The certificate must be dated within 90 days of the drive test.
Applicants ages 18-24 who have been issued a DE-964 showing completion of a Teen Driver Education course (32 hours classroom, 44 Hours behind the wheel) are required to watch the 2 hour ITTD video.
Q: Is there an expiration date on the ITYD certificate?
A: Yes, the ITYD certification has an expiration date. The ITYD certificate is only valid for 90 days. If the applicant does not pass the driving skills examination within 90 days of the date on the certificate they must restart the ITYD program.
Q: Do I have to watch the 1 hour video in a single viewing?
A: No, the ITYD video is broken up into four (4) modules that you can view independently. Each module must be completed in its entirety in order to progress to the next module.
Q: After I complete all modules and finish the ITYD video, how will I receive my certificate?
A: A copy of the certificate will be e-mailed to the address used to create an account on the ITYD website. Additionally, you will be able to log in to the ITYD website at any time to retrieve and print your certificate.
Q: Can I submit the electronic copy of my certificate to the driver license office or TPST School?
A: No. You must print the certificate and submit a paper copy to the driver license office or TPST School
Q: Is there a fee required to take ITYD?
A: No. ITYD is offered by the Department free of charge.
